Robots are ready to fly your flight , are you ready ?
ALIAS, which stands for Aircrew Labor In-Cockpit Automated System, is a robot built to be a co-pilot.
A robotic co-pilot has managed to fly and land a Boeing 737-800NG in a flight simulator as part of a US military-funded project. The work was completed for a project for the Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in the US.
It performs all the tasks a co-pilot would, and is designed to allow for a reduced number of human crew members for flights.Along with the robotic arm, the ALIAS system incorporates an advanced tablet-based user interface, speech recognition and machine learning. In addition, it can manipulate the flight controls just like a human.ALIAS is already up to the task, and was able to accurately maneuver the virtual plane both in flight and during landing. The robot used machine vision technology and a robotic arm to physically manipulate the various knobs, levers, and buttons in the complicated cockpit
It perfectly demonstrated its ability to control speed, adjust the airplane’s flaps, control the throttle, activate reverse thrusters, and do everything a trained veteran pilot would do to safely land the aircraft.
The successful test takes the technology one step closer to transforming military planes and helicopters into autonomous flying machines.
Robot arm quickly shifts around the cockpit to move switches and levers
The robot sits in the co-pilot seat and reads dials using cameras and sensors

Wireless data transmission using just LED light bulbs
Light Fidelity or Li-Fi is a Visible Light Communications (VLC) system running wireless communications travelling at very high speeds.Li-Fi is a bidirectional, high-speed and fully networked wireless communication technology similar to Wi-Fi is a form of UV visible-light communication or infrared and near-ultraviolet instead of radio-frequency spectrum, part of optical wireless communications technology, which carries much more information and has been proposed as a solution to the RF-bandwidth limitations. Both Wi-Fi and Li-Fi transmit data over the electromagnetic spectrum, but whereas Wi-Fi utilizes radio waves, Li-Fi uses visible light.
This Optical wirless Communications technology uses light from light-emitting diodes (LEDs) as a medium to deliver networked, mobile, high-speed communication in a similar manner to Wi-Fi.
Li-Fi is transmission of data through illumination, sending data through a LED light bulb that varies in intensity faster than human eye can follow.
The visible light spectrum is 10,000 times larger than the entire radio frequency spectrum.Researchers have reached data rates of over 224 Gbit/s .It promises huge speed advantages, as well as more-secure communications and reduced device interference.
Lifi has following advantages over Wifi
Transmits data using LED lights
Higher data speed
No interference issues
Secured as light cannot pass through walls
Larger Spectrum

Google lens - search engine next level
Google I/O 2017 keynote, led by CEO Sundar Pichai laid out the company’s future roadmap for Android, Google Assistant, Google Home, virtual reality
First Android O Beta version is available
Google Assistant come to Iphone
Android surpasses 2 billion monthly active devices
Google assistant can see and understand via Google Lens
At Google’s I/O developer conference, CEO Sundar Pichai made announcement of Google Lens , a technology product that leverages Google’s computer vision and AI technology in order to bring smarts directly to your phone’s camera.
Lens uses machine learning to examine photos viewed through your phone’s camera, or on saved photos on your phone, and can use the images to complete tasks.
Google lens is first being added to Google Photos and the personalized AI software Assistant, which is available on an increasing number of devices.
A few things Lens can do:
Tell species of a flower , just by viewing the flower through your phone’s camera
Read a complicated Wi-Fi password through your phone’s camera and automatically log you into the network
By just flashing your camera over the physical place , it would recognize the restaurant by name and also offer you reviews and other information about the restaurant or retail store across the street.

KALAMSAT world's lightest space probe
Kalam SAT is to be the world’s lightest space probe named after former Indian president Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, it will be launched by NASA on 21 June, 2017 from Wallops Island.
The probe was built by Rifath Sharook, an 18 year old student from Pallapatti, Tamil Nadu, India, This Probe is the lightest working satellite despite not possessing a professional satellite designing degree.
The weight of the probe is just 64 grams and it is fitted in a 4 centimeters cube.
The probe is composed of 3-D printed reinforced carbon fibre polymer.
The probe will be launched by a sub-orbital spaceflight.
The 18-year-old has designed the light weight satellite which will have a 240-minute mission in space, all thanks to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The tiny probe will be operated only for 12 minutes to demonstrate the performance of 3-D printed carbon fibre in a micro-gravity environment of space. It will have a new kind of on-board computer and eight indigenous built-in sensors to measure acceleration, rotation and the magnetosphere of the Earth .

All about WannaCry ransomware
The WannaCry ransomware attack is an ongoing cyberattack of the WannaCry (or WannaCrypt, WanaCrypt0r 2.0, Wanna Decryptor) ransomware computer worm, targeting the Microsoft Windows operating system.
Computer viruses are small software programs that are designed to spread from one computer to another and to interfere with computer operation. A virus might corrupt or delete data on your computer, use your e-mail program to spread itself to other computers, or even erase everything on your hard disk.
Ransomware usually infects a computer when a user opens a phishing email, and although such emails have been alleged to be used to infect machines with WannaCry, this method of attack has not been confirmed. Once installed, WannaCry uses the EternalBlue exploit and DoublePulsar backdoor developed by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) to spread through local networks and remote hosts and hence it’s a worm. A worm is technically not a virus, but a program very similar to a virus; it has the ability to self-replicate.
The attack started on Friday, 12 May 2017 and has been described as unprecedented in scale, infecting more than 230,000 computers in over 150 countries. The worst-hit countries are reported to be Russia, Ukraine, India and Taiwan, but parts of Britain's National Health Service (NHS), FedEx and LATAM Airlines were hit along with many others worldwide.

Wannacry Ransomware takes a computer hostage and holds it for ransom. In this case, the attackers are asking for at least $300 in bitcoins for each computer affected by the attack. With ransomware attacks, the malware locks down a target machine, encrypting its data and preventing the owner from accessing it until he or she agrees to pay up.
Shortly after the attack began a web security researcher who blogs as "MalwareTech" unknowingly flipped an effective kill switch by registering a domain name he found in the code of the ransomware. This slowed the spread of infection, but new versions have now been detected that lack the kill switch
